Support the NSW SES by switching to Origin LPG

Origin LPG - NSW SES Partnership

Residents of New South Wales can enjoy the home comforts that gas provides while supporting their local NSW State Emergency Services (SES) unit, thanks to a new community partnership between the NSW SES and Origin.

As proud community partner of the NSW SES, Origin will donate $5 to the NSW SES Unit for every LPG cylinder or refill purchased by a new customer until 30 September 2015.

"At Origin, we recognise that volunteers are the lifeblood of NSW SES. These men and women in orange have been assisting communities across NSW for 60 years. Now, we want to say thank you," said Andrew Bills, General Manager, LPG, Origin.

"By making the switch to Origin LPG, you can help support and give back to our local SES volunteers who regularly and selflessly give up their time to help our community in times of emergency," he said.

As one of the largest distributors of LPG and a market leader in providing gas services to Australia and the Asia Pacific, Origin is also offering consumers in NSW 20% off its standard price, fixed for 12 months.

Mr Bills said there are so many benefits to switching to LPG, particularly in the lead up to the cooler months.

"LPG provides better control over your cooking and heating - perfect just in time for winter. With Origin LPG you will have a local team on the ground that knows your neck of the woods," he said.

Port Macquarie SES Unit Controller, Kevin Sherwood, said Origin's donation will help provide vital funding for local members.

"Our organisation is made up primarily of volunteers and we welcome the support of our partners and the local community," he said.

"Through Origin's LPG initiative, we are hoping to raise additional funding, which will help our local unit fund important education and training for our volunteers to broaden their skills," he said.

"This is a great opportunity for residents to get involved and support their local NSW SES Unit so that they can continue to invest in volunteer development and leadership," he said.

Origin and NSW SES have joined forces to become community partners working together in local communities. The partnership is a natural fit for both organisations keen to work together to make a difference in regional NSW.
